Scoring & Tournament Dollars

What Are Tournament Dollars (TD$)?

TD$ is in-game currency used exclusively within tournaments. It's not real money. It's how we track your performance and ranking.

  • Starting Balance: Varies by tournament
  • Purpose: Wager on picks to grow your stack and reinvest winnings throughout the tournament
  • Goal: Have the highest TD$ balance when the tournament ends
  • Tournament Rule: You must wager your entire TD$ balance over the course of the tournament to qualify for final rankings
  • Important: TD$ cannot be withdrawn or converted to real money

Pick Outcomes

Win

Your pick was correct. Earn TD$ based on the odds.

Example: Bet 100 TD$ at +150 odds → Win 150 TD$ profit

Lose

Your pick was wrong. Lose the TD$ you wagered.

Example: Bet 100 TD$ → Lose 100 TD$

Push

The result lands exactly on the line. Get your TD$ back.

Example: Bet 100 TD$ on Over 45, final score 45 → Get 100 TD$ back

Understanding Odds (Simplified)

Odds tell you how much TD$ you can win. We use American odds format:

Positive Odds (+)

+150, +200, +300

These are underdogs. The number shows how much you WIN if you bet 100 TD$.

Example:
Bet 100 TD$ at +150
If you win → Get back 100 TD$ + 150 TD$ profit = 250 TD$ total

Negative Odds (-)

-110, -150, -200

These are favorites. The number shows how much you NEED TO BET to win 100 TD$.

Example:
Bet 110 TD$ at -110
If you win → Get back 110 TD$ + 100 TD$ profit = 210 TD$ total
Quick Rule: Higher positive numbers (+300) = bigger underdog, bigger payout. Higher negative numbers (-200) = bigger favorite, smaller payout.

Glossary

New to tournament play? No worries. Here are the key terms you'll see in tournaments.

Betting Terms

Pick the winner straight up. No point spread needed. Favorites have negative odds (-), underdogs have positive (+).

Example: Lakers -150 vs Warriors +130. Pick which team wins the game.

The favorite must win by MORE than the spread. The underdog can lose by LESS than the spread and you still win.

Example: Chiefs -7.5 vs Broncos +7.5. Chiefs must win by 8+ points. Broncos can lose by 7 or fewer (or win outright).

Bet on whether the combined score goes OVER or UNDER a set number.

Example: Total 48.5. Pick Over if you think both teams will score 49+ combined. Pick Under if you think 48 or less.

Bet on individual player stats like points, yards, touchdowns, rebounds, etc.

Example: Patrick Mahomes Over 275.5 passing yards. Pick Over if you think he throws for 276+ yards.

A tie. The result lands exactly on the line. You get your TD$ back. No win, no loss.

Example: Bet Over 45.5 total, final score is 24-21 (45 total). Push. Get your TD$ back.

The team or player expected to win. Has negative odds (e.g., -150).

The team or player expected to lose. Has positive odds (e.g., +200).

The built-in advantage in the odds. Most spreads are -110, meaning you risk 110 TD$ to win 100 TD$. That 10 TD$ difference is the juice.

When a team wins by enough to beat the spread.

Example: Cowboys -6.5, they win 28-14 (14-point win). They covered the spread.

When a team covers the spread by scoring late in a game that's already decided.
